[John Daly, pictured, skeptical of the news that he wasn't in any way involved with the Tiger Woods car crash. Daly's attorneys are demanding it in writing.] By now, the Internets have pretty much covered the late night Thanksgiving Day car crash involving Tiger Woods and his wife “rescuing” him with a golf club upside the [...]

Tiger Woods made the news in a John Daly (golf's oft drunken bad boy) type of story. While the reports are extra extra clear that alcohol was not involved in the 2:30 Black Friday morning one car accident, what did...

When I first heard of Tiger Woods car accident today , my first thoughts were for his health. Then, after learning he’s fine and already home, I started thinking what fantastic news this is for all of us. You see, for years, Tiger Woods has thwarted our ability to roundly mock him. The dude never messes up, and when he does - like when he goes from Tiger to Sailor on the golf course - it gets...

by Ryan Wilson Filed under: Golf Tiger Woods won the Australian Masters Sunday, and for his troubles he got a see-through globe and a mustard yellow jacket. And unlike John Daly 's appearance at the Australian Open last December, Woods made it through four rounds without having to smash anybody's camera . Instead, he chucked his driver into the gallery after a poor tee shot during Saturday's round....

In honor of my last post and some of the dumb things golfers do, I’ve created a new category here at Hooked On Golf Blog called “Boneheads.” Boneheads will no doubt be a regular stop for funny reading material. I get the impression John Daly may be mentioned in this category a few times…

The JBWere Australian Masters is now almost upon us and it is hard to recall a bigger build up to a golf tournament held in Australia. The Tiger frenzy has been so crazy even the Britney Spears fans must be wondering why their idol is not gracing the front page of the newspapers. There are concerns over the galleries surrounding Tiger this week. The incidents in China concerning cameras has some cause...

Sightings of the Tasmanian Tiger are reported in the Australian media from time to time and interest in the extinct marsupial peaks for a few days with plans to clone the animal from extracted DNA. The story comes and goes quicker than you can say "What's with Robert Allenby's putting?" and I wonder if the sudden interest in golf due to sightings of a different Tiger in Australia next week...

Anthony Kim beat Robert Allenby in the World Match Play Championship, 5-4. But the real story, according to ESPN, was that Allenby felt Kim was not giving him the customary tap-in short putts that are usually given during match play. If you remember from the President's Cup, Allenby called out AK as the "next John Daly" for partying until 4 a.m. the night before the singles matches. Whether...

by Shane Bacon Filed under: European Tour So much for Robert Allenby taking advantage of a rested Anthony Kim . Playing for the first time since the Presidents Cup -- where Allenby bashed Kim for partying too much and being a loose cannon and compared him to John Daly , even though the American smoked the Australian in the singles matches -- Kim again took Allenby down in Spain. This time, it was...

There has been some great golf articles written in the past few weeks (not just at Aussie Golfer) and I couldn't go on without highlighting some of them. Seve Ballesteros back on track after battling brain cancer. He wants to play in next years British Open . It seemed as though every man and his dog wanted to get stuck into Robert Allenby after his comments about Anthony Kim at the Presidents Cup....

Maybe I’m just a little twisted. I found it mildly entertaining that John Daly’s return after rib surgery was at the Viking Classic Oct. 29-Nov. 1, or Halloween. I hope JD finds his game, stays injury free, and shows us what he can really do on the golf course.

...because in orchestrating a Robert Allenby apology for Anthony Kim , the PGA Tour did not see fit to have Allenby also apologize to John Daly after Allenby reportedly labeled Kim "the new Daly."

In the world of golf and the sports betting world, the British Open will take center stage this week. With baseball taking their All-Star break early in the week, the UFC 100 in the rear view mirror, and nothing much else happening in sports on either side of the pond, the third major of the golf season will get plenty of attention. Online sportsbook posted the odds up for the Open Championship a while...
