Sweden's two-time US PGA Tour winner Daniel Chopra grabbed the clubhouse lead at the Singapore Open on Friday as Padraig Harrington finally found form to stay in the rain-hit tournament. Once again lightning disrupted the day with more than half the field failing to finish, including first round leader Ian Poulter and world number two Phil Mickelson. The US-based Chopra is safely home on seven-under-par...

Englishman Ian Poulter clung to his one shot lead as the first round of the rain-hit Singapore Open concluded on Friday, but Padraig Harrington had a horror day. Poulter finished his five-under-par round of 66 just before rain and lightning hit on Thursday, leaving 78 players unable to finish. The only one to make a charge on Friday before lightning again halted play for two hours was Australia's...

The Barclay's Singapore Open is certainly not lacking in star power. And that is not just in golf. When you have the likes of Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Padraig Harrington, each of whom have three Majors to their name, it does make for a great tournament.

Padraig Harrington and Rory McIlroy need to get their putting boots on to avoid being trampled in the Race to Dubai. The pair struggled badly on the greens in their last outing in Portugal and can’t afford any more slip ups with just four events to go in the quest to become European No 1.

YOU CAN CALL ROBERT ALLENBY a golf grump, a whiner and a sore loser. But please don’t call the veteran Aussie golfer “a run-of-the-mill journeyman.” That’s an actual comment I saw—and others like it—after Allenby criticized Anthony Kim’s alleged behavior on the eve of the pair’s singles match at the Presidents Cup. In the world of golf and the sports betting world, the British Open will take center stage this week. With baseball taking their All-Star break early in the week, the UFC 100 in the rear view mirror, and nothing much else happening in sports on either side of the pond, the third major of the golf season will get plenty of attention. Online sportsbook posted the odds up for the Open Championship a while...
