A reader says he thought (but wasn't totally sure) that he heard Paul Azinger say during Thursday's Presidents Cup broadcast that U.S. Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin has not talked to him about the Ryder Cup. Did anyone else hear this?

Future U.S. team captains now have the template for partnering the squad's dynamic duo. No matter what happens over the next three days at the Presidents Cup, Paul Azinger and now Fred Couples finally seem to have answered the question that dogged U.S. captains at Ryder and Presidents cups past: With whom do you pair world Nos. 1 and 2, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, to maximize their talent and impact?...

I haven't watched a lot of the Presidents Cup today, but what parts I have seen were made infinitely more interesting thanks to Paul Azinger's commentary

I know the Europeans are the socialists and all, but American Beth Daniels is the captain who has been spreading the wealth around in the first two days of Solheim Cup competition. Eurpean Captain Alison Nicholas was quite lopsided with her pairings Day 1 and 2, apparently banking on Suzann Petterson to carry the team by playing each match thus far. But that’s backfired. Petterson is probably...

Yesterday during the discussion regarding the damaged ground issue, Rich Lerner actually suggested that the US Assistant Captain should just give in and make the US player play the ball where it was. "In the interest of good sportsmanship" he said. What? Would he dare suggest Paul Azinger do that? Or Tom Lehman? Or Colin Montgomerie? Or Ian Woosnam? Why should women have to give in and not...

CHASKA, Minn. (AP) -- Paul Azinger pulled the driver from his bag because there really is no other option at Hazeltine. The sign post on the opening hole has two words and two sets of numbers that serve as a not-so-subtle welcome to the PGA Championship.

Starting today, Reno's Montreux Golf and Country Club will host the closest PGA Tour event to Sacramento. The Reno-Tahoe Open begins with a full field. There will be no Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson because the tournament is going head-to-head against a World Golf Championships event, but it has Paul Azinger, Steve Elkington and Rich Beem in the field. Reno-Tahoe makes me miss having a pro tournament...

I was hoping Lee Westwood would have held on for the win, but that wasn't meant to be. I watched all of the coverage today, even the part on TNT. Up until about 10:30am est I had the sound on, but after the announcers completely botched the Ross Fisher episode, I decided to mute them for the rest of the day. Which incident am I talking about? The one on the fifth hole where he made a double bogey....
