Padraig Harrington won his second straight British Open, overtaking 53-year-old Greg Norman and fending off Ian Poulter. Harrington, who beat Sergio Garcia in a playoff last year, shot a 1-under 69 on a blustery Sunday at Royal Birkdale. He won by four strokes with a 3-over 283 total. The Irishman wrapped up the claret jug with an eagle at the next-to-last hole.

At the Open at Royal Birkdale there was a group of six Spanish supporters of Sergio Garcia. They each wore an orange shirt with a letter on the front an "S","E"."R","G","I","O" standing in a line alongside the tee or green spelling out their hero's name and showing him their support. Unfortunately they didn't keep in order as they moved around the course and at one stage you could see ORGIES coming...
