Flyers Notes In reality, Jesse Boulerice's 25-game suspension this season was really 58 games. That's how many games the Flyers played before his suspension was fulfilled.

To his teammates, Chris Simon isn't a stick-swinging, skate-stomping fiend. To the NHL, he is an out-of-control enforcer. The New York Islanders forward was given a 30-game suspension yesterday, breaking the mark of 25 games he was hit with last March, and that Flyer Jesse Boulerice was given in October.

AS EXPECTED, Flyers defenseman Randy Jones was suspended by the NHL yesterday for his check on Boston's Patrice Bergeron. And also as expected, the penalty was nowhere near as severe as the previous suspensions of Steve Downie and Jesse Boulerice. Jones was benched by league disciplinarian Colin Campbell for two games.

TEN GAMES into the season and the Flyers are facing a third player suspension. The first two - 20 games to Steve Downie for leaving his feet and leveling Ottawa's Dean McAmmond, and 25 games to Jesse Boulerice for crosschecking Vancouver's Ryan Kesler in the face - were blatant, clear-cut incidents that warranted the time the players were handed.
