Devastating blow for Shean Donovan and the Ottawa Senators. The results of the MRI are in and showed MCL damage as well as possible ACL damage. As first reported by Brent Wallace, Donovan will miss at least 6-8 weeks. After that time he'll test out the knee and see if there is any further damage. The good news, if there is any, is that surgery is not required. Donovan has done a great job on the Senators...

The former Penguin has 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 18 games this season. Note: Earlier we had posted Kovalev would not play tonight. We regret the error. Note 2: According to Kukla's Korner, TSN had initially reported Kovalev would not play ....

It wasn't a pretty performance from the Senators. They sat back and let the Leafs come at them for nearly the entire third period but were still able to pick up the two points. The reason for that was pretty simple; Pascal Leclaire. Sure the two that did get by him weren't the greatest but he was good when he had to be. I hesitate to compare Pascal to a guy like Brodeur but thats just what this was....
The Senators were able to escape with an important two points tonight in what was a terribly sloppy game against the Oilers. Ottawa took the lead in the third period only to see Brule score on a weak goal to tie things up at 3-3 late in the third. The Senators were sloppy throughout the final frame but were in a position to win the game after a hard work goal by Chris Neil. It was definitely a goal...
Ottawa has been on the wrong end of a some ugly loses this year and obviously there are a number of factors at play. Undisciplined play, inconsistent officiating, underachieving stars and suspect third period goaltending just to name a few. Some of these elements are out of the Senators hands but the underachieving stars is something that can be fixed. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Cory Clouston...

When you think about the faces of the Penguins franchise - Sidney Crosby, Marc-Andre Fleury and Evgeni Malkin - you think of youth. All four of those players are under the age of 25. Then you get to Brooks Orpik. You might not think of him as part of that vital internal core. He doesn't win Hart Trophies or Conn Smythe Awards. He wasn't one of the top two picks in a draft. He never made a clutch,...
Sorry for the late post today folks. Been a pretty hectic day. First off, thanks to everyone who came out for the live blog last night. Wasn't the best result obviously but it was fun talkin puck with you guys and gals during the game. As I'm sure you've all heard, Alex Kovalev and Jason Spezza were both absent at practice this morning. Spezza is doubtful for the game tomorrow but Kovalev is expected...
Some injury news, but first.. From the Ottawa Citizen, “Obviously, it’s a definite advantage when you score first,” said Mike Fisher, who set up both Chris Neil and Alex Kovalev for goals against Montreal. “It gives you that much more confidence. Montreal was all over us in the first period and (Leclaire) made some great saves. We got out of that first period tied 1-1 and we...
PREGAME -Greetings from what is simply a cruddy, miserable day in Pittsburgh. Low 40s, drizzle. It just one of those days where the word "hibernation" comes to mind. -We didn't walk up from downtown. Too cruddy. -This is a left over from last week's game. A Georges Laraque jersey: -This is from this morning. The Lightning had some memorabilia set aside for the entire team to sign: -Apparently...
