I also believe there were people who treated him differently and did not give him enough credit because he was Russian. But, please Sergei, let’s not revise history here. I don't put a great deal of stock in the fact that Brendan Shanahan chose to announce his retirement through the NHL offices rather than what's left of the NHL Players Association. But I don't dismiss it, either.
