Florida Panthers' Bryan McCabe coming up on milestone

Bryan McCabe remembers his first NHL game with pure clarity.<p/> ``It was Boston in Boston,'' the Panthers defenseman said Thursday, recalling his debut on Oct. 7, 1995. ``I remember being across from Ray Bourque and my legs were shaking during the anthem. I was in the starting lineup. It was a dream come true. I think I had 10 penalty minutes for tripping and hooking and stuff.''

Would you swap Beauchemin & Komisarek for McCabe & Kubina now?

The Toronto Maple Leafs continue on their winless streak after losing yesterdays game to the Vancouver Canucks and setting the all time team mark for worst start in franchise history. Lets hope as fans that this is the only negative mark that we are part of this season but i wouldn't hold my breathe on this matter. The big question now is would the Maple Leafs be better off if they had kept Bryan McCabe...

Offensive Defensemen are grossly overvalued

One of my expressed goals for the summer was coming up with a way to determine the value of defensive defenseman. It hasn't gone all that well. A result of this endeavor, however, was the realization that NHL GM's pay entirely too much for offense from the blueline. By way of introduction, here's the leagues top paid blueliners next season, by cap hit: Zdeno Chara Nicklas Lidstrom Brian Campbell Scott...

A New Era In Florida

from Shawn P. Roarke of NHL.com, The Florida Panthers have not made the Stanley Cup Playoffs since accumulating a franchise-record 98 points in the 1999-2000 season. Following last season’s near-miss, Jacques Martin, the team’s general manager and former coach,...
