The Hurricanes on Monday signed Legace to a one-year deal that will pay him $500,000 at the NHL level or $105,000 if he is sent to the minors. Legace, 36, is 177-92-36 in the NHL and was 2-2 with a 3.21 goals-against average this year with Chicago of the AHL.
