( UPDATE 11:16 PM )- Just caught a bit of the Clouston post game media scrum and he said that it was an elbow injury that Volchenkov suffered late in the game tonight. Much prefer that to a shoulder injury but we will know more about his status tomorrow. The Ottawa Senators started their mini road trip with a solid 4-3 victory over a struggling Panthers team in Florida. The return of Filip Kuba paid...

The Ottawa Senators play their first road game in 11 days when they visit the Florida Panthers tonight on TSN 2. The Senators last road tilt came two Saturdays ago, when the Senators beat the division rival Habs in Montreal. The Senators will get a boost tonight with the return of Filip Kuba . Kuba has been out of the line up since the season opener and should help settle a struggling power play. Ottawa...

The season is young but its becoming pretty obvious that Anton Volchenkov is poised to have the best season of his career. The 27 year old native of Moscow, Russia has been an absolute force on the Senators back end through the first seven games and is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The A-Train brings a rare blend of shot blocking ability combined with the ability...

It certainly wasn't the Senators best effort but last night's 4-1 loss at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins certainly could have easily gone the other way had it not been for a couple of bad bounces. The Penguins scored two weird ones and the second Tyler Kennedy goal was one Leclaire would love to have back. The Senators got a strong performance from the newly formed Michalek - Spezza - Cheechoo...

The Senators have 82 games and many hurdles to clear to get back to the playoffs this year. The early reviews? Uh…well, Perdita Felicien thinks they’re off to a shaky start. The Sens fell 5-2 to the Rangers Saturday night in New York. It’s early but the game exposed many vulnerabilities. The big one for me? The Sens blue line remains below average. Erik Karlsson and Chris Campoli...

by Kevin Schultz Filed under: Senators , NHL Rumors When the Senators acquired Mike Comrie and Chris Campoli before the trade deadline, some of the talk surrounding the trade wasn't about the players themselves. Since the Senators were out of the playoff race at the time some of the discussion revolved around Comrie's significant other, Hillary Duff . Duff could almost always been seen at the Coliseum...

The NHL playoff begins tonight, and even though Ottawa’s not in the postseason, we figured the pairing of Carl Pavano’s ex, Gia Allemand, and defenseman Chris Campoli was worth mentioning. She’s sort of a big deal on the internet, whatever that means. After the jump, the most passionate female hockey fan we know, Sportsgal, opines about [...]

For former Islanders Chris Campoli and Mike Comrie, the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence. Both welcomed the Feb. 21 trade that sent them to Ottawa, and their experiences with the Senators since then have only reinforced their belief that it was the right move, especially given that neither felt his game suited the system played by rookie Isles coach Scott Gordon.

With about three weeks left until the NHL trade deadline, forward Sean Bergenheim and defenseman Chris Campoli were in the same boat as desirable young Islanders who didn't necessarily fit coach Scott Gordon's system and might fetch a good price on the open market. The simple difference is that Campoli asked for a trade and Bergenheim chose to stay and try playing his way into the good graces of the...

There's a pretty good chance Dean McAmmond's Islanders career might not last beyond the end of this season. But for as long as he wears the jersey, the center who was acquired from Ottawa as part of the trade for Chris Campoli and Mike Comrie last Friday will appreciate it as much as anyone.

In a surprising move, the Ottawa Senators have acquired defenseman Chris Campoli and center Mike Comrie from the New York Islanders in exchange for Dean McAmmond and a first-round pick (originally belonging to San Jose) in the 2009 NHL draft, according to the Islanders website. This move makes little sense for Ottawa, unless general manager Bryan Murray has another deal on the horizon. If he doesn't,...

The Senators faint playoff hopes took a hit on Saturday afternoon with a tough loss to their division rivals ,the Montreal Canadiens . Once again the Senators could not overcome a slow start and in the end fell to the Habs 5-3. New addition on the blueline Chris Campoli seemed to fit in nicely in his Senators debut. He picked up two assists and was a constant threat to jump into the play from the back...
