- If you're holding onto Jean-Sebastien Giguere thinking he's going to get traded to the Detroit Red Wings, think again. There are a lot of rumors floating around about Giggy getting dealt to Detroit, but unless Brian Rafalski is part of that deal, its simply not possible due to the salary cap. Detroit's front office has also come out and said that they are not interested in Giguere and are happy...

Chris Osgood is 8 pounds lighter; Jimmy Howard, four games wiser. After a nearly weeklong battle with a nasty virus, Osgood is back at work and nearing a return to his starting job in net for the Red Wings. While Osgood has ailed, Howard has thrived on a workload that saw him make 29 saves in a 3-1 loss to Dallas Wednesday at Joe Louis Arena.

Chris Osgood returned to practice today. But given that he has been out five days battling flu-like sickness, the Red Wings will have Daniel Larsson backing up goalie Jimmy Howard when the Wings host Dallas on Wednesday night, coach Mike Babcock said.

I almost thought the Arby's Curse truly existed. I remember reading somewhere that last season was the Wings' first hat-trick-less season since sometime in the mid-70s. Craziness. Also craziness - Chris Osgood still has... whatever it is he's got . I don't know why fate is constantly conspiring to keep Ozzie a backup goalie. And we're playing Dallas on Wednesday. A game against Dallas can get real...

Chris Osgood’s still out with the flu or whatever (I’m starting to suspect “flu” is a convenient cover for “groin” or something else), so Jimmy Howard will get his fourth straight start Wednesday. This is as good a chance as Jimmy’s likely to get to prove himself, so here’s hoping for his sake he’s not on [...]

Last Monday, the day after the Lions' 32-20 loss at Seattle, Dominic Raiola took his customary seat in the center of the offensive line meeting room. That morning, in a show of alliance, goaltender Chris Osgood wore his Lions cap to Red Wings practice.

The Detroit Red Wings kicked, clawed, struggled and somehow found a way to put 2 goals into Roberto Luongo’s net. As it turned out, for the second night in a row, this was enough for a victory. Both without Chris Osgood. Jimmy Howard, after a solid night against Columbus, was outstanding back home in Detroit against [...]

While all the Conn Smythe trophy talk (playoff MVP) prior to the start of the Stanley Cup finals centered around Detroit Red Wing netminder Chris Osgood, the odds have changed somewhat. Osgood has struggled in a few games and that has allowed other players to enter the fray. Osgood is still a favorite at -200 to take the Conn Smythe but teammate Henrik Zetterberg has seen his odds steepen and is close...
