Goaltender Dan Cloutier passed major hurdles Monday and Tuesday -- regardless if he sticks with the Red Wings or not. Cloutier came to training camp on a tryout and stopped all eight shots in 30 minutes of a 4-2 exhibition loss to the New York Rangers on Monday night, then woke up Tuesday morning pain-free.
Update from Joe Louis Arena today: Henrik Zetterberg told me he's staying off the ice for three days in hopes rest will heal his tender groin. Zetterberg's injury flared up when he stepped up Jimmy Howard's stick during training camp. Also, Mike Babcock told me Dan Cloutier, in camp on a tryout, will play either Monday or Tuesday of next week.
