I think we Penguins fans better get used to these wacky games while they have a chunk of their lineup out. Like tonight, where the Pens are awarded with 35 shots on goal, compared to only 15 for the visiting Minnesota Wild, but lose 2-1. Kyle Brodziak and Eric Belanger scored for the Wild, while Pascal Dupuis had the only tally for the Penguins.
FIRST PERIOD 20:00: " LET'S GO PENS! LET'S GO PENS! " 19:40: Sidney Crosby rushes up the ice and challenges Brent Burns one-on-one from the right wing. Burns hacks the puck off Crosby's stick. 19:10: Chris Bourque, Ruslan Fedotenko and Jordan Staal are on a line once again. Bourque snaps off a wrister from the top of hte slot. Backstrom knocks it away. 17:53: Matt Cooke, Craig Adams and...

I am not a subscriber to the ESPN Insider service, but I did notice that they posted an article today that was titled "Wild Preparing for Fire Sale". It doesn't take rocket scientists or title insurance examiners to figure out that this may be the case sooner rather than later. If the team doesn't start playing better, GM Chuck Fletcher is going to start trading away players who will become...

The Kings exploded on the reigning President's Cup winner San Jose Sharks jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the second period. The Blue Jackets will open their season against the Minnesota Wild. They will be doing it without Mike Commodore. He has been placed on IR with a groin pull according to Puck-Rakers. Roy has been called up from Syracuse. It’s a huge loss for the Blue Jackets, but let’s just hope that he isn’t out for a long period of time. Now to the home opener. It should be a great game. There is...
from Tom Reed of Puck-rakers, Jason Chimera does not care that Eric Belanger’s rap sheet had been clean before Friday night’s hit from behind that sent the Blue Jackets winger off the ice on a stretcher. He believes Belanger’s check was dirty and that it merits a suspension. Chimera returned to Columbus on Saturday after he was held overnight in a St. Paul. Minn., hospital for observation....
We are two games into the preseason now, and with a game tonight against the dreaded Predators. It’s time for another update. The Jackets lost the first two preseason games, the first a 5-4 OT loss to the Penguins, the second, last night a 2-0 loss to the Wild. The scariest news out of last night, was that Jason Chimera, was carried off on a stretcher after a hit from Eric Belanger (of course...
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jason Chimera has been wheeled off the ice on a stretcher after being checked into the boards by Minnesota Wild center Eric Belanger.
