Maurice Has Faith In His Team

from Mike G. Morreale of NHL.com, Coach Paul Maurice is faced with the realization his 2-11-3 team must carry on without the services of injured franchise linchpins Eric Staal (upper body) and Cam Ward (left leg laceration) for the foreseeable future. “I still believe in this team,” Maurice said after Monday’s practice. “We had a tough stretch back in 2003 when half our team...

Jackets 3, Hurricanes 2

CBJ faced off last night against the struggling Hurricanes. A team that has had a horrible season so far, played the night before (losing to the equally woeful Leafs), and is without their two biggest offensive threats in Eric Staal and ex-Jacket Ray Whitney (which was a bit of a disappointment, as Whits is on [...]

Hurricanes Struggle

After making the semi-finals in the 2009 playoffs, it appeared that the Carolina Hurricanes would have a strong 2009/10 season. So far that hasn’t been the case. The Hurricanes had a solid start winning two of their first four games, including a 7-2 victory over the Florida Panthers, but they haven’t won any games since. This gives Carolina a league leading eight game losing streak. That...
