Markus Naslund and Nikolai Zherdev scored in a shootout to give the New York Rangers a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers on Friday night. Henrik Lundqvist allowed Rostislav Olesz's goal in the tiebreaker, then stopped the final two attempts to improve to 5-1 in shootouts this season. Lundqvist has allowed only two goals in 17 shootout attempts this season.

Markus Naslund scored twice and had one of two New York goals in a shootout to lead the Rangers past the Tampa Bay Lightning, 3-2 on Wednesday night. Nikolai Zherdev had two assists, and also scored in the shootout. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 27 shots in regulation and also turned aside both Tampa Bay shots during the shootout.

Last night’s 6-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks can be described in one word: embarrassing. Through the first 30 minutes of the tilt, the New York Rangers were nowhere to be found, especially in the defensive zone as Rangers’ goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was hung out to dry. That brings me to my next point: Lundqvist did not pull himself from the game last night.

That house of cards the Rangers built through 21 games collapsed pretty fast on Wednesday night, faster than Henrik Lundqvist making a bee line for the bench after the Canucks scored their fifth goal in 25:33.
