Brian Burke is 2-0 as president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tosky was sharp and Grabs scored his 10th goal. The Grabovski pick-up was a wise move by Fletch, but I still shake my head at the Jamal Mayers trade. We shouldn't be giving up draft picks for a guy like that. Mayers broke his hand last night and is likely gone for a month. Current Record Last Games Season Leaders 9-9-6...

Two strides into a simple speed drill, it was apparent that Jamal Mayers had made his first footprint on the Maple Leafs.

from the CP, He feels at home in St. Louis now and is ready to assume a leadership role with a young Blues team that has parted ways with veterans Jamal Mayers, Mike Johnson, Ryan Johnson and Bryce Salvador since last season’s trade deadline. “I’ve always felt comfortable in junior in (a leadership) role and in the minors after a couple years,” said (Brad) Boyes. “I think that I’m getting to that point...

Uncle Cliffy has pulled of a trade on the eve of the 2008 NHL draft. We've given up a third round pick to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Jamal Mayers, a 33-year old who scored 12 goals and added 15 assists with 91 penalty minutes in 80 games last season. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Uncle Cliffy supposed to avoid players in their 30s? Wouldn't we be better off building with our 3rd rounder...

The Leafs have traded a third round pick to the St. Louis Blues for forward Jamal Mayers. To me, this means Tucker is on his way out of Toronto, as they are very similar players. The Leafs have had interest in Mayers since before deadline of 07, it's interesting that Fletcher made a deal JFJ came close to making several times. Bryan McCabe is not likely to waive his NTC, and according to his agent...

It appeared to be a simple play. It was also the one that Ryan Johnson and Jamal Mayers work on all the time that produced the winning goal for the Blues and helped St. Louis break out of a six-game losing streak. Mayers received an outlet pass...

Paul Kariya scored in the first period and set up Brad Boyes' go-ahead goal with 2:27 to go in the St. Louis Blues' 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night. Jamal Mayers added an empty-netter in the final minute as the Blues broke through against Blue Jackets goalie Pascal Leclaire, who shut them out twice earlier in the season. St. Louis has won two straight after losing three in...
