When I was a teenager I read a book by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale called “The Power of Positive Thinking.” I didn’t do me one bit of good. I continued to think that my pimples were never going away and I wouldn’t be getting laid any time soon. However, I believe there’s some positives regarding the Habs and their injuries. On Tuesday, the Hurricanes earned one standings point and lost another goaltender. In the overtime period, Carolina had a man advantage for the final two minutes of play, but failed to cash in on the four-on-three advantage. The shootout went six rounds,...

It could’ve been the perfect night. It was almost a 1-0 win over the Boston Bruins, with Carey Price earning a huge shutout, Glen Metropolit scoring the lone goal, and the Boston Bruins going more than three full games without scoring. But instead, it was a shootout win for the Canadiens after Boston’s Patrice Bergeron scored with [...] Added by: rocket Viewed: 0 time(s) Tags/Keywords:...

Carey Price was smooth, steady, confident, and solid as a rock. He handled the puck with poise, even sending it tape-to-tape a hundred feet up the ice a few times. And he did all this while the rest of his team slept against a young and speedy Chicago Blackhawks squad. At least they slept through most of [...] Added by: rocket Viewed: 0 time(s) Tags/Keywords: carey price chicago blackhawks montreal...

Henrik Lundqvist was on the ice (in a replacement helmet) and Christopher Higgins was out there, too (in yellow) - the news of the day from Ranger practice today. Higgins, benched yesterday after a penalty and a blown coverage in the second period of the OT loss to the Habs, skated with the fourth line today, with Aaron Voros moving up to Brandon Dubinsky’s left opposite Ryan Callahan. Of course,...

from Jack Todd of the Montreal Gazette, Not only have the Canadiens lost four good players and quality individuals, they’ve also lost a good piece of their identity. They are left with only three francophones in the room - Georges Laraque, Guillaume Latendresse and Maxim Lapierre. Given that the Vegan Laraque apparently intends to malinger his way through the balance of his contract, that leaves...

from Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette, One of the realities of living in Quebec is that the language issue colours every aspect of life. That was evident once again Thursday as the Canadiens gathered at Laval-sur-le-lac for the team’s annual golf tournament. The event was preceded by a press conference at which team owner George Gillett passed the torch to Geoff Molson, the head of a group...
