(The Associated Press) Jussi Jokinen scored the winning goal in the shootout and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Minnesota Wild 5-4 on Sunday to end a 14-game winless streak. The Hurricanes' second shooter in the shootout, Jokinen went to his backhand and lofted the puck above the glove of Niklas Backstrom. When Michael Leighton stopped Marek Zidlicky on the Wild's final chance, the Hurricanes had...

That will be the LAST time we go to a game watch party... Onto the Battle Damage Assessment.... THE GOOD: Earlier today we said that the Caps would be well served to get out to a fast start and build an early lead, they did exactly that with two goals in 37 seconds with just over 5 minutes gone in the game. The Power Play needed only 52 seconds and one shot to convert their only opportunity tonight....

Not quite boring, not quite exciting... Onto the Battle Damage Assessment... THE GOOD: No shots on goal for the Caps in the first seven minutes as they didn't get the "chase" part of the "dump and chase" style going. But 41 shots on goal over the last 53 minutes was impressive to us even though there are still those who think they didn't shoot enough. We have a Brian Pothier sighting!...

It's hard to believe, too, that they thought they had their No. 1 in Josh Harding more than three years...

His save percentage is up to .918, he has a winning record and Toronto's on as much of a roll as you can be on after winning three out of seven games (3-0-4). Tonight, the...

Xtreme Machine acquires Ryan Getzlaf and Nikolai Khabibulin: Before the Dany Heatley trade, I had Ryan Getzlaf ranked in my top 5 forwards. Seeing him get off to a slow start was just what I needed to make a "Buy Low" offer. Getzlaf got off to a slow start last year as well, but caught on fire the rest of the way and with the improved offense in Anaheim, I'm expecting a 100 point season....
