WASHINGTON - Two power-play goals by defenseman Mike Green in a 1:23 span of the third period gave Washington a 5-3 victory over the Islanders Wednesday night at Verizon Center. The winning goal came after Islanders forward Tim Jackman received a goaltender interference penalty that negated a goal by teammate Josh Bailey that would have given the Islanders a 4-3 lead.

With about six minutes remaining in the first period, Ovechkin was dealt a glancing blow in the neutral zone from Tim Jackman.
