UNIONDALE, N.Y. | Agitators Nate Thompson and Tim Jackman are supposed to provide energy and spark for the New York Islanders, but on this night it worked the other way. Thompson's knee-on-knee hit on Washington Capitals defenseman Mike Green and other antics by Jackman helped wake up the sluggish Caps, and they rallied from a two-goal deficit to fend off the pesky Islanders 3-2 in overtime Saturday...

from John Vogl of the Buffalo News, After getting the wind knocked out of him, Ryan Miller thought he was trading goal posts for ring posts. The New York Islanders may as well have been Jimmy Snuka of the Fiji Islands. “Just a good old-fashioned WWF knee drop to the back,” Miller said after his night of wrestling in the crease. Buffalo Sabres fans howled for several goaltender interference...

WASHINGTON - Two power-play goals by defenseman Mike Green in a 1:23 span of the third period gave Washington a 5-3 victory over the Islanders Wednesday night at Verizon Center. The winning goal came after Islanders forward Tim Jackman received a goaltender interference penalty that negated a goal by teammate Josh Bailey that would have given the Islanders a 4-3 lead.

The Caps are up 2-0 on the Isles, but Alex Ovechkin appears to have suffered an injury. With about six minutes remaining in the first period, Ovechkin was dealt a glancing blow in the neutral zone from Tim Jackman. Ovechkin finished his shift, but he was favoring his left arm/shoulder and headed straight for the dressing room. I'll post another update as soon as I hear something....Please click on...

With 10 minutes, 25 seconds of playing time, fourth-line right wing Tim Jackman had the least ice time of any Islander in their 2-1 shootout win over Vancouver on Monday night at the Coliseum. But Jackman might have made the biggest impact of anyone except for goaltender Joey MacDonald.
