CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Jiri Hudler scored the game-winner in a three-goal third period Saturday when the Detroit Red Wings beat Calgary 5-2 for their fifth straight win. Hudler also had an assist. Red Wings goaltender Ty Conklin sat quietly at his locker before Monday night's game and answered questions about getting his first home start. He exhibited all the worry of a person preparing to mow the lawn. After a while, someone asked Conklin if he wasn't at least a little excited about his first start at home.

Red Wings backup goaltender Ty Conklin got his second straight start, and Chris Osgood got some valuable extra practice time Monday. Coach Mike Babcock gave Osgood the night off against Edmonton and, in return, the veteran hit the ice early and stuck around after most of his teammates had left to work on his fundamentals with goalie coach Jim Bedard.
