Red Wings sign Valtteri Filppula to a 5-year deal

Red Wings forward Valtteri Filppula and general manager Ken Holland both got what they wanted Wednesday. Filppula, 24, agreed to a five-year, $15-million contract to remain with the Wings through the 2012-13 season.
