Dave Tippett, Mike Modano, Brenden Morrow and Marty Turco talk today… Q. Defensively what has been the biggest thing for you guys the last couple games? COACH DAVE TIPPETT: Well, I don't know. We talk about we have to defend as a group. Marty is certainly a big part of that. I think the Toby Petersen line came in and gave us strong minutes in a checking role. Like I said, from the start, we look at...

NOTEBOOK: Chris Osgood faced only 21 shots, but he made several good saves among them. He made back-to-back saves on Mike Ribeiro and Brenden Morrow during a Dallas power play in the second period, and stopped Mike Modano's backhand attempt during a first-period power play. "He gives us a chance to win every night," Niklas Kronwall said of Osgood. "He made some big key saves for us, but we came up...

from the Dallas Stars Blog at the Dallas Morning News, Stars captain Brenden Morrow was interviewed Thursday by Bob and Dan of BaD Radio on 1310-AM The Ticket and had a lot to say. One of the first points Morrow made was to revisit a questionable roughing penalty called on Stars defenseman Mark Fistric in the first period of a 4-1 loss in Game 1 against the Red Wings. Referee Bill McCreary whistled...

I'm going to go ahead and turn my game one summary, a 4-1 Detroit win over Dallas, to Star captain Brenden Morrow, since he kind of captured things perfectly: " You can't stand around and watch the puck ." Dallas seemed to spend most of the game standing around, watching the Wings. When you think of Dallas, you tend to think of tight defense. Last night was more like the Stars were watching video....
