Paul Holmgren knew right away that Vaclav Prospal was not happy to be returning to Philadelphia. "Right after we made the trade [at the deadline in February] when I talked to him, he let me know he wasn't very happy. And with a 4-1 win on Philly's home ice, the Flyers season has all but come to a close. With milk cartons in Philly now being printed up with Daniel Briere’s face on them, a certain level of schadenfreude has invaded my living room. The Goose’s Roost has deeper analysis of Briere’s poor play, and [...]

A bit of sad news to start today's post: John Staal, the grandfather of Eric, Marc, Jordan, and Jared, passed away on Monday . Jordan did play in tonight's game, and former Penguin Mark Recchi has chartered a plane so Jordan can join his family for the funeral and not miss any of the playoffs. (The Recchin' Ball is one classy guy.) Our condolences to the entire Staal family. I have to start out with...
