Other great nicknames like 'The Dominator' (Dominik Hasek), The Mule (Johan Franzen), The Hammer (Dave Schultz), 'The Rocket' (Maurice Richard), and 'The Golden Jet' (Bobby Hull) have become part of the colorful history of the game. But, then

From Joe O’Connor at the National Post, some chat with Brett Hull, co-GM of the Dallas Stars. A sampling: National Post: You were a goal scorer and a teammate of Dominik Hasek in Detroit. And you know Chris Osgood, whose been around a long time. So, do you have any tips for Dallas’ shooters in the Western final? Brett Hull: The way goalies play goal now, they are all the same. There are only certain...

from the Buffalo News, Miller tied the Sabres’ single-season record for most appearances by a goaltender, guarding the net for the 72nd time to match Don Edwards (1977-78), Dominik Hasek (1997-98) and Martin Biron (2001-02). With five games left, Miller certainly will have the mark all to himself, probably as soon as tonight when the Sabres host Montreal in HSBC Arena. “It’s just the coach tapped you...

INJURY UPDATES: Chris Osgood will start in goal tonight while Dominik Hasek is nursing a sore back. Hasek left practice early after feeling twinges, something he speculated might stem from being hit by Nashville's Dan Hamhuis in Sunday's game. "I don't think it's anything serious," Hasek said. "I just didn't feel well on the ice. I'd like to be back tomorrow; if not, for sure on the weekend." ...

fromm Rick Westhead of the Toronto Star, Now a group of influential NHL players that includes New Jersey's Martin Brodeur, Dallas's Marty Turco, Detroit's Dominik Hasek and Edmonton's Dwayne Roloson want the league’s – and inevitably the Leafs’ – uniforms altered again. In what would be a radical overhaul that might incite hockey traditionalists but surely gratify some of the league’s cash-strapped...

Curtis Joseph is back in the NHL, backing up Miikka Kiprusoff in Calgary . You have to admit it would be pretty funny if Dominik Hasek announced he was going to join the Flames, too. In my head CuJo is forever sad that Hasek crashed the party in Detroit, kind of like when you're the only guy at a party full of women, when suddenly a bunch of hot guys show up and take all the ladies. FULL DISCLOSURE:...
