I could have swore I heard that Carey Price was the reincarnation of Patrick Roy? That's a ballsy move benching Patrick Roy for Jaroslav Halak. In the pool, Drew still leads, and he tells me he's moving to Nova Scotia and not New Brunswick. Toronto Mike regrets the error. from the 2008 Stanley Cup Blog at CBC, Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau has painted himself into a dilemma with his decision to start Jaroslav Halak in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinal against the Philadelphia Flyers. Halak played well, and when you consider the circumstances under which he was making his first career playoff start, he was exceptional. The game was played in about as hostile...

I don't quite understand the Canadiens goalie situation. Last night, they started backup Jaroslav Halak over rookie Carey Price, presumably their future franchise goalie . Price has struggled in the playoffs, but he's also had some great moments. In other words, he's played like you would expect the average rookie goaltender to play in high-stakes games. One would assume a rookie goalie, especially...

After Montreal coach Guy Carbonneau told Jaroslav Halak yesterday morning that he would be making his initial start in the net for an NHL playoff game, the first thing the goalie had to do was lift his chin off the floor.

THERE WAS NOT a lot of information on Jaroslav Halak. Montreal's backup goalie had only played one period in the playoffs, and that was Monday night against the Flyers in Game 3, when Carey Price was chased from the net. Halak saw two shots.

via Dave Stubbs at Habs Inside/Out, The Canadiens have announced that Jaroslav Halak will start in goal tonight in Game 4. It will be the first career playoff start for the 22-year-old from Bratislava, who played 19 minutes in Monday's Game 3 in relief of Carey Price, stopping both shots he faced.
