There was a great little moment Monday in the Red Wings' locker room when coach Mike Babcock, unsure of how long Jiri Hudler had been a pro, yelled a question at Hudler. "Huds, how many years you been here? This year three if you make the team this year?"

Normally, I am not a big fan of trade speculation. It tends to get ridiculous: How about Jiri Hudler and Jimmy Howard for Sidney Crosby? No? What if they throw in Evgeni Malkin? I'll tell you what: I'll give you my pickle for half your sandwich. No, I won't throw in the barbecue chips. OK, a few.

I hate to be a party pooper after a Stanley Cup win by Detroit, but I want to get a couple of monkeys off my back. 1. Are these refs paid to call penalties to sway game results? What the hell was up with the hooking obstruction call on Jiri Hudler with less than 2:00 left in the game? That was weak! The refs were letting a lot go up to that point and then pull that call from out of their asses. Sure

“With his back to the net for the majority of the play, Jiri Hudler let a backhander go that snuck by Fleury glove-side,” writes DJ Abisalih. “With 17:34 to go in regulation, the visitors had their first lead of the game…”
