The Maple Leafs have given injured centre John Pohl a leave of absence so he can be with brother, Tom, who required surgery after slamming his head into the boards during a college game Sunday. Tom Pohl suffered a skull fracture while playing for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The forward's helmet had come off on the play.
