I rarely, if ever, pimp my friends’ events online but in this case I am going to make an exception. Mark Parrish is by far one of the most amazing painters I have ever met. What’s more, he is a good friend. Tomorrow you can see his work (and meet him in person) at… For the [...]

from Russo’s Rants, I talked to a reporter from the Team 1040 in Vancouver today, and agent John Vollan confirmed to him that the Canucks have shown interest. Parrish just has to stay patient. Remember, two of the teams interested in him have other things pending and he’s Plan B. In other words, if Mats Sundin turns down Vancouver’s reported $10 million-a-year offer or simply retires, Parrish will...

Mark Parrish and Glen Murray may find a new home soon. The Predators counted on Alexander Radulov entering the season as one of their main scoring threats, but now that the emerging sniper has returned to Russia, it leaves a big hole on their offense. Although the Preds have decent offensive punch, without Radulov they [...]

from Ken Campbell of the Hockey News, Kudos to Minnesota Wild GM Doug Risebrough for his refreshing honesty when it came to buying out Mark Parrish’s contract. Finally a GM in the NHL takes personal responsibility for signing a bad contract. What a concept. “I looked at Mark’s salary and at what I thought his contributions would be and they were not totally in line,” Risebrough said after Parrish was...

from John Glennon of Chilling Out at the Tennessean, The Minnesota Wild’s decision to buy out forward Mark Parrish means there’s another established goal-scorer on the free-agent market, but I don’t suspect the Predators will be making a beeline for the telephone. For starters, I think David Poile wants to get some resolution on the Alexander Radulov situation before he starts making commitments to...

Mark Parrish cleared waivers so the Wild bought him out of his contract . It turns out the cap hit isn't awful, according to Michael Russo: As for that cap hit, the team can spread the cap hit over six years to lessen the pain. Instead of a $2.65 million cap hit in each of the next three years, it'll have a $727,778 cap hit in Years 1 and 2 and a $927,778 cap hit in Years 3-6. For this year, the Wild...

Mark Parrish's homecoming didn't work out. The Minnesota Wild bought out the final three years of the right winger's contract on Wednesday, ending Parrish's frustrating return to his hometown market. Parrish cleared waivers and is now an unrestricted free agent.

The Minnesota Wild bought out the remaining three years of Mark Parrish's contract on Wednesday. It was an abrupt end to a disappointing return home for the hard-nosed winger.

Wow. I'm surprised Mark Parrish was released by the Wild with three years left on his contract . The Wild were too close to the cap to keep him, though. And it didn't help that Parrish didn't always get along with coach Jacques Lemaire . Still, Parrish is a Minnesota native and I thought that, if nothing else, would keep him around. His salary wasn't insane and he's a talented, if not explosive, forward....

The Minnesota Wild waived veteran winger Mark Parrish yesterday with three years remaining on his five-year contract. The Wild had just over $2 million in cap space available entering this upcoming season, and GM Doug Risebrough was uncomfortable with that number after bumping against the ceiling all of last year. Last week, the Bruins waived [...]
