Nolan Schaefer has spent most of his five pro seasons bouncing between teams in the AHL and NHL. The Houston Aeros goalie has even had three call-ups to the parent Minnesota Wild this season without getting in a game.

Aeros look for boost at goal with signing of Brust

The Aeros don't want a repeat of last year's goaltending disaster when the team was often embarrassed after losing No. 1 goalie Josh Harding to the NHL. On Friday, the team signed Barry Brust, who will push Nolan Schaefer for starting time in net with the Aeros. Also expected to be in training camp with the Aeros is Miroslav Kopriva and Anton Khudobin.
