from Larry Brooks of the NY Post, How could the Rangers have had $15.55M in the cap bank to sign four free-agent defensemen, Redden, Kalinin, Michal Rozsival and Paul Mara, but never get around to making an offer to Brooks Orpik? If Marc Staal, whose omission from the NHL all-rookie team was a reflection of utmost ignorance, by the way, becomes the stud defenseman over the next two years everyone anticipates,...

Well if the Rangers don't go from here to the top of the pack after this game then forget about it. They aren't going anywhere. They roared back with two big goals by Chris Drury, off of a beautiful feed by Nigel Dawes, and Straka on a deflection of a Paul Mara shot. They played tough, tight and most importantly, disciplined. And Lundqvist after being victimized by his own team was outstanding.

It was too good to be true. Marek Malik was going to sit as Paul Mara returned to the lineup. That was about as good as it was going to get. Yes, the Rangers came back with two straight goals, the first by Marcel Hossa and Chris Drury's seventh, to give them a brief 2-1 lead and then the tying goal by Dupuis and finally the winner by Kozlov past backup Steve Valiquette who started for Lundqvist.
