Carolina Hurricanes captain Rod Brind'Amour said Wednesday he's skating three times a week and has been cleared for his usual late-June workout program. He tore the ACL in his left knee on Feb. 14 and had surgery a day later.

On Wednesday, the Hurricanes announced that they have re-signed winger Sergei Samsonov to a three year deal valued at $7.6M. Come on, it's ok. You can admit it. You felt a mixture of Schadenfreude and hope when you saw that Darrien Hatcher and R.J. Umberger miss the remainder of the regular season due to injuries.
