Completing 408 km (89 laps) without any problems the Austrian also helped the engineers to collect more data on the standard ECU.

A BMW Sauber mechanic has been injured after suffering an electric shock, whilst the German-Swiss team were trying out their Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) during testing at Jerez on Tuesday. The incident occurred when the squad's test driver Christian Klien returned to the pits in the modified F1.07C following an initial installation run at the Spanish circuit.

Christian Klien, who was at the wheel of the car, came back in the pits after an installation run. As the mechanics wanted to push the car into the garage, the first one to touch the F1.08 fell to the ground after receiving an electric shock.
