Beijing: Michael Schumacher's abortive decision to return to Formula One last season as a replacement for the injured Felipe Massa was "emotional not rational", the seven-time world champion said on Tuesday.

Michael Schumacher has admitted that his attempt to get back into Formula One racing earlier this year was an emotional decision, rather than a rational one. Schumacher told 'Reuters' that his main motivation was taking the place of his injured long time friend and teammate at Ferrari, Felipe Massa.

While Felipe Massa has basically recovered from his crash several months ago, he is still unable to return to avoid the risk of a secondary head trauma. Massa reveals however that the reason Michael Schumacher, his supposed replacement, called off his comeback was because of a vision problem.
