In all my years of going to the track and covering NASCAR, Saturday marked a first. And not only was it a first, it was also the maybe the stupidest thing I'd ever witnessed. What was it? Kevin Lepage's bad merger. If you didn't get to see it, Lepage was coming off pit road — not fully up to speed — when he pulled out in front of the pack, which was going around 200 mph.

Kevin is a talented race car driver. More talented than 99% of those that will ever strap in. He made a stupid, capital STUPID move on Saturday. However, it does not take away from the fact that he is a guy deserving of a lot of respect. I have had a chance to hang with him a little and he is an awesome guy. Let's all take his apology and move on.

Kevin Lepage apologized Sunday for starting a 15-car accident in the Nationwide Series that he initially insisted wasn't his fault. Lepage started the crash at Talladega Superspeedway when he was coming out of the pits with 47 laps to go Saturday. He tried to blend back onto the track as the pack of traffic raced toward turn 1, effectively entering the racing line at half the speed the rest of the...

WOW! Did anyone first see the wreck where Dario Franchitti spun out and Gunselman T BONED him in the drivers door when Dario was down on the grass'?? Dario ended up breaking his ankle. Jimmy Spencer said it was the MOST STUPID MOVE by Gunselman. And then how about Kevin Lepage, pulling up in front of the leaders, who were going 180 mph, when he was going about 80 mph. WOW. He's lucky someone didn't...

Kevin Lepage moving above the blend line too early while exiting pit road with almost the whole field of cars doing about 190 mph coming straight at him with nowhere to go. I'm not a Carl Edwards fan, but man am I glad to see him walk away from that one. Please see the YouTube.com link provided. Included in it is Kevin's interview after the 'Carnival of Carnage' caused by him and his spotter. O.K....

Tony Stewart earlier today took the poll for the Aaron's 312 while Kyle Busch attempts to win four Nationwide Series races in a row. Mother Nature was threatening to dump a bunch of rain on track and drivers are looking to avoid the big one. At the drop of the green flag Kyle Busch getting out [...]

It is hard to overestimate the respect that drivers across the nation have for Oxford Plains Speedway's competitors. I was sitting in my office a few weeks back when I got a call from Kevin Harvick, Inc. telling me that Kevin was coming up to run the 250. Because of the quality of the drivers at Oxford, guys like Kevin want to come up and run on their off weekends. Matt Kenseth. Kurt Busch. Kyle Busch....
