Milwaukee Wave owner Charles Krause reached a signed letter of intent with a prospective buyer for the indoor soccer franchise Friday, and Krause said he expects to close the sale in about a week, providing conditions are met.

According to the Milwaukee Wave Facebook group page (I know, I hate Twitter, but I'll get my news from Facebook), the Wave have found a local investor to purchase the team for the upcoming season and beyond. The goal is to get 1,000 season tickets pledges in the very near future as they go forward ( milwaukeewave.com for more details). Next up will likely be the talks to enter the National Indoor Soccer...

The biggest thing I noticed about the Milwaukee Wave soccer franchise when I worked there last winter was that this just wasn't a team, this was essentially a family. The sales people seemed to know every season ticket holder by name, season ticket holders from the inaugural season 25 years ago were still in attendance, and players could often be seen chatting to fans before, after, and even during...

The longest running professional soccer franchise in America could be calling it quits. It's been a tough week for the Milwaukee Wave, who have found out that not only is their ownership group leaving them, but they are also without a league. Last season, they were a charter member of the four-team Xtreme Soccer League, which has ceased it's operation. Just goes to show that leagues with "Xtreme"...
