It is remarkable to think that David Dein left Arsenal as long ago as April 2007, and yet only yesterday was his replacement announced. A long recruitment process that included rebuffed approaches for Nicky Hammond of Reading and Peter Lawwell of Celtic finally drew to a conclusion with the announcement that Ivan Gazidis will take up [...]

Major League Soccer deputy commissioner Ivan Gazidis has been named the new chief executive of Arsenal Football Club from North London. He replaces David Dein who left the club 18 months ago. This is a huge gain for Arsenal, but an even bigger loss for MLS. I am going to assume that all the MLS muckity mucks knew about his all weekend long at the Cup final and just acted like nothing was going on.

It is no coincidence really that ever since David Dein left the club it has been in tatters. Observers of football will consider a team's strengths or weaknesses only on a visual basis, considering merely what they can see in team work and talent. But what they don't think about is what goes on behind the scenes and how influential many members of staff on the board etc can be. At Arsenal David Dein...

The former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein insists there is too much at stake in football to hold back on the introduction of technology and has said that referees are a "endangered species". Costly and questionable refereeing decisions have prompted hot debate on the issue over recent years, most prominently on whether technology could be used to decide whether a ball has crossed the goal-line....

American tycoon Stan Kroenke has today announced that he has joined the Arsenal board. We put him head-to-head with David Dein-backed Alisher Usmanov to find out who has the best prospects as they vie for control of the club. The Arsenal fans have warmed to Stan Kroenke, at least relatively speaking. Usmanov is viewed with suspicion [...]

No this is not a new player, but the appointment of Stan Kroenke to the board of directors. For those of you who do not remember, this is the same Kroenke that David Dein wanted to be brought onto the Arsenal board with the option of investing further into the club. This is the same man [...]

Recent mutterings from ex-Etonian Peter Hill-Wood have sent the City finacial fixers in a tailpsin. If the offer was right we will have to recommend it to shareholders. When David Dein dared mentioned bringing Kroenke on board, he was dismissed from the board, the remaining directors raised the drawbridge, manned the barricades and awaited for the [...]

The currently vacated post of COE at Arsenal is set to be filled and I cant help but wish that it was David Dein who was set to be appointed. I know it is virtually impossible now for Dein to be appointed after he sold his shares and had a pretty big bust up with the board but there is no mistaking the fact that the man is Arsenal through and through. The situation is now quite laughable. The man Dein...
