It's highly doubtful that, upon becoming manager of the Blues, Avram Grant was told he had a job for as long as he wanted. Whatever the reasons were behind Jose Mourinho's departure, it was an abrupt exit which left Chelsea needing a quick fix before the summer of 2008. So ...
