Just when England find a solution of sorts to cover the absence of a left-wing, up pops a man born on the steps of Wembley. Jerome Thomas has been around for years, pottering beneath the serious radar, mostly at Charlton, failing to turn a perceived talent to noticeable account. At 26 he should be in his prime. Maybe he is, but too late for South Africa next summer. Football is full of prodigal prodigies...

Jerome Thomas scored twice as West Bromwich Albion, second in the Championship, recovered from the early setback of Matt Mills' goal for Reading to win 3-1 at the Hawthorns and keep the pressure on leaders Newcastle United. "A threat all day," Albion manager Roberto Di Matteo said of Thomas, signed this summer after Portsmouth released him.

West Brom went level with Newcastle at the top of the Championship after coming from a goal down to beat Reading 3-1 at The Hawthorns. The Baggies trailed early on to Matt Mills' header, but Jerome Thomas ensured the two sides went into the interval on level terms.

If you read Arsenal Station regularly, you will know that I regularly criticize the British press, especially their treatment of Arsenal. Today, Arsenal Station guest contributor, Ted Harwood, continues that tradition with a look at the media’s reaction following the incident between Jack Wilshire and Jerome Thomas in Arsenal’s third-round Carling Cup match last weekend. The football reporter’s...

Apologies for the lack of updates, been doing a bit much recently and consequently I’m half asleep most of the time now! So, Tuesday night saw the Young Guns make the 4th round of the beer cup with a 2-0 victory over WBA. Those expecting an easy night like the 6-0 demolition of Sheffield United were somewhat over expectant given Albion’s form going into this match, as the first half proved...

Last night we saw the Arsenal past and Arsenal future, with a good stark warning for all of our youth players who think that they are bigger than the club… Jerome Thomas of West Bromich Albion began his Arsenal career having joined the Arsenal from his schoolboy appointment at Luton Town Football Club in 2001. He [...]

Week 8 - Separated by just a point at the top of the table pre-game, West Brom and Middlesbrough were a class apart during the match. The Baggies travelled to Teesside and rampaged through the Boro defence, with a Chris Brunt double putting them on the way to a five-goal haul. Brunt’s second was a sensational first-time hit from just inside the opposition half, lobbing home goalkeeper Danny...

Carling Cup 3rd Round Arsenal 2 – 0 West Bromwich Albion 1 – 0 Watt (68) 2 – 0 Vela (76) The youngsters progressed through to Saturday’s draw, gaining more useful experience than was perhaps garnered from last season’s 6 – 0 drubbing of Sheffield United. Until the point of Jerome Thomas’ deserved dismissal, it was an even contest, [...]

Morning all, Arsenal made their way into the 4th round of the Carling Cup last night with a 2-0 win over West Brom. I didn't see any of it, bar the goals on Sky Sports News , but you can't argue with the result. The goals came from Sanchez Watt, who followed up a Carlos Vela shot, and Carlos Vela who followed up a Mark Randall chip. The visitors weren't helped by the dismissal of former Gunner Jerome...
