After starting the season with six goals in their first two games, the Colorado Rapids appeared to be the offensive juggernaut of Major League Soccer.

Was today October 15, 2000? Cause it certainly felt like it watching the Wizards take on the Chicago Fire. Like on that day, the Wizards made an early goal stand up to get a 1-0 win over the Fire. This time the goal scorer was Jack Jewsbury on a superb assist by Claudio Lopez. Lopez's cutting ball was met by Jewsbury, who beat his defended and goalkeeper Jon Busch to the ball and then fired the ball...

So, a combination of Wednesday afternoon classes and being too poor to afford FSC means that the only game I've managed to watch live this week? Chicago Fire - New England Revolution. And I don't even like either of those teams, and the ESPN2 broadcasts aren't the same without Eric Wynalda doing his drunk-uncle routine, but you know, sometimes you go with what's there. It did make me realize

What in the blue hell is going on in Chicago? I get home from practice and see that the score is already 1-0 Chicago and New England is already a man down?!? While I'm getting settled, Chicago scored one of the more ridiculous goals I've seen to take a 2-0 lead. Great ball from Blanco that Barrett turns into an adventure. Parkhurst makes a great pass to the new Polish striker for Chicago and he trickles...

Having been “underground” when Major League Soccer (MLS) Roster Compliance Day came and went (and, to celebrate, I threw out tons of crap, just like the teams I like!), motivation to soberly analyze all those rosters isn't coming; besides, fans and fan sites have probably did all this to near-death earlier in the week. Forty-four US players got called into camp yesterday as the US MNT gets ready for their 'friendly' against Mexico on 6 Feb and the U-23s get ready for Olympic Qualification. Both camps are stocked full with MLS players (35 in total). Here is Bob Bradley's list for the Mexico match: GK (4) – Steve Cronin (LA Galaxy), Brad Guzan (Chivas USA), Will Hesmer (Columbus Crew), Zach Wells (D.C. United) D (8)...

For a while the Fire have been looking for someone to play along side Blanco. I’d even heard Blanco trying to get some of his National teammates to come up to the MLS and play in Chicago with him. But Blanco and the rest of the Fire may need to learn some French since head coach [...]

While we’re all obsessing over players we barely know (OK, maybe only I am), the little matter of this Saturday's international friendly between the U.S. Men's team (viva los Yanquis!) has slipped under the radar. Fortunately, a couple outlets are pulling it back on-screen today. Sure, there was always USSoccer.com, but that's a given. [...]

Landon Donovan finds himself one of the headliners of a mostly domestic based roster that will take on the Swedes after missing [...]

Last night I told my wife I was happy to have an off-season from soccer, just a little time off from building my life around the domestic calendar’s schedule. These are the little lies that sustain a marriage… - …and I say that ’cause a wicked craving hit the second I checked the upcoming calendar on [...]
