Morigami to retire after season

Japan's Akiko Morigami said on Monday she will retire from competitive tennis at the end of the season as she is no longer able to perform at a high level. "I have fluid that has built up in my knee and I am no longer able to train the way I want to. If I can't return to the stage of playing that I once had I really don't see any reason to continue," said Morigami.
