BEND, OR — Take a triathlon, throw it in a great venue, and then add one shot of vacation paradise and you have a great recipe for fun. The Deschutes Dash — held annually in Bend, Oregon — fits the bill nicely. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the area, Bend is located in [...]

10k done, triathlon next

Quick update: I managed the Bupa Great Capital 10k run last weekend. It was a great run for me as I managed the full thing without having to walk at any point and broke the 70 minute barrier. I've also managed to maintain an injury free post race me though and above everything else, that's probably the most pleasing aspect. What's next? London Triathlon in two weeks time. All I need to do now is get...

You Want Hills?

Forget Alpe D'Huez, take a look at THIS: Savageman HIM, Deep Creek Lake: There's a reason the SavageMan is considered the Most Savage Triathlon in the World, and the Westernport Wall is one of them. This is the race my evil friends are urging me to do--the inaugural Olympic distance thankfully does NOT include this tiny speed bump. I'm not sure if this video is gonna PUMP. ME. UP.!

Spirit of Racine Photos

I took 250 pictures at the Spirit of Racine Triathlon on Sunday. That's right...250. Most of them are linked below. Here's just one, showing the crazy that was the fog on that morning. Click on it for the full gallery on my smugmug account (I took a lot of random pictures and so there might be one of you ...you being a random person I don't know but might be reading this...of you in there). Enjoy!

Fark all you snarky bastards who can't think of anything nice to say about this guy. He got his law degree, hunts, swims, plus many other outside activities, and has his own law practice. This guy is an inspiration to everyone. I know people who have not done HALF as much as this guy, and they HAVE arms and legs. Seems like a great guy, he gets a salute./salute.

SOMEBODY DIDN'T EAT ENOUGH BANANAS

Ah, the New York City Triathlon. Sometimes it kills people . Sometimes it's just so damn hot and humid that people are left hilariously stumbling around with cramps and heat exhaustion. I especially like all the little signs left on the ground for our hero to crash through. Were there no carefully constructed houses of cards or plate glass windows or collapsible tables available? He really could have...

Man with no arms and legs takes part in triathlon

In last Sunday's Pittsburgh Triathlon, there were a lot of individual competitors and teams with competitors for each event. One team, however, stood out. That team contained three friends: Jim on the Bike, Ned doing the running, and Craig Dietz doing the swimming. However, Dietz was born with no arms or legs. "It felt great when I first decided to do it," said Dietz. "I was a little unsure and even...
