Look, I know I've been hard on the BBWAA, but some headlines are just over the top . Of course, I'm an Ohio State fan, and my team's success in gaming the BCS in recent years is the equivalent of Aaron Heilman winning the Cy Young, so I probably have no room to talk.

I believe there are three players who no matter what can't return to this team next season; Luis Castillo, Aaron Heilman and Scott Schoeneweis. I've already made my case for Castillo and Heilman but I haven't mentioned why I think Schoeneweis needs to be moved. On his numbers alone it appears he had a solid year, 73 appearances with an ERA of 3.34. A closer look at those numbers finds some disturbing...

In a post for his Always Amazin' blog, Matthew Artus suggests that the Mets could obtain closer, Huston Street from the Colorado Rockies if they are willing to part with reliever Aaron Heilman . This deal would benefit both the Mets and Heilman in many ways, as the Mets are looking to revamp their bullpen, while Heilman has been itching to start for the past couple of seasons. The question is how much...

Allan Schwartz has a piece in the NY Times today about the Mets finding it tough to get rid of the dead wood that wash up on the shores of Flushing Bay that became the 2007 Mets bullpen. As much as I’m a Aaron Heilman fan his time in NY has come and gone he [...]

Today, a number of outlets are reporting that there are some potential suitors for embattled Mets reliever Aaron Heilman, including the still-aching Tampa Bay Rays. Back to Mets stuff. It seems that Omar is looking toward Tampa for pitching help and the Rays supposedly are dangling Edwin Jackson and Andy Sonnanstine for Aaron Heilman. Heilman seems to be in play with the Rockies, Cubs,Cubs and Snakes who fancy him as a starter. Now of course if the Mets kept with [...]

Only a week into the offseason, GM Omar Minaya has already squashed any hope that the Mets would finally come to their senses and put Aaron Heilman into a position where he can succeed. From The New York Times: Although the Mets need at least two starting pitchers, Minaya all but ruled out moving the beleaguered reliever [...]

According to Ken Davidoff of Newsday who is reporting from the GM meetings, that the Rays have some interest in Aaron Heilman . In my opinion Heilman absolutely has to be moved, I don't think he can succeed here and needs a change of scenery. The Rays are said to need to move Edwin Jackson to make room for David Price but if the price is too steep, I think Jonny Gomes is a change of scenery candidate...
