The new combination of Will Jefferson and Shafayat had a parent-son look to it, given their respective heights of 6ft 10in and 5ft 7in, and Jefferson played the senior role in a stand of 157, which was Nottinghamshire's best opening partnership of the season and also the highest first-wicket stand in the 2008 championship.
