From Randy Moss' dynamic 66-yard touchdown catch to Kevin Faulk's score on a direct snap, the New England Patriots returned to their usual regular-season form in an unusual place. The Patriots' Stephen Gostkowski (3) and Chris Hanson (6) celebrate one of Gostkowski's two fourth-quarter field goals as the 49ers' Nate Clements (22) walks off the field.

If you said Chris Hanson from Dateline's "To Catch a Predator," you would be correct. Thank God it was on the B train and not, you know, in my kitchen. And yet, even still, just seeing the guy made me paranoid for absolutely no good reason. "Now, I don't think I've arranged to meet and have sex with any underage boys today. ...But I have been known to sleepwalk now and then." I bet he does that

The Patriots first drive started well with a first down, but stalled around the 50 yard line. On the punt play, P Chris Hanson was bumped by rookie CB Brandon Flowers, which led to a first down. The Pats continued driving, but Wes Welker lost a fumble on a short pass and KC now has [...]

What's up with Chris Hanson? Mike Reiss reported that the Patriots hosted three players on tryouts Monday, two of whom were rookie punters - Adam Crossett , and Waylon Prather . Today the Patriots hosted Reggie Hodges , a punter who played 8 games with the Rams and Eagles in 2005. Mere scouting or something more? In other " Pieces ", Ben Watson is raffling off a season's worth of tickets to Patriots...

I’m guessing JoJo is over 18 at this point but she still looks like she’s jailbait. I expect Chris Hanson to pop out while I’m even just looking at pictures. I think it’s because her facial features are all smushed together. It’s like someone put all the Mr Potato Head pieces into just one hole. [...]

It would seem there is little competition for the Patriots' Chris Hanson. He is, after all, the only punter on the roster, which is vastly different than this time last year, when he wasn't on the roster and the team was looking at three other punters: Danny Baugher, Josh Miller, and Tom Malone.

Another punter? Apparently veterans Chris Hanson (picked up from Jacksonville in 2007) and Scott Player (recently signed this past April from Cleveland) are in for a bit of competition since the Patriots signed undrafted rookie free agent Mike Dragosavich out of North Dakota State. Dragosavich was invited to the Patriots rookie mini-camp on a strictly try-out basis, and merited an official acknowledgment...

While I really enjoyed the David Cook commercial for ‘Guitar Hero’, I must say that I was a little disturbed by the David Archuleta version. The Patriots have made a late free agent fury, signing some needs before this Saturday's draft. First, they signed 38 year old punter Scott Player. Not exactly a need, but it's a freaking awesome signing. Look at him: Player is here for one thing… and that is to provide Chris Hanson some competition during training camp. He [...]

According to Mike Reiss (Boston Globe): The Patriots have been in conversations with veteran punter Scott Player about the possibility of joining the club. The 38-year-old Player would compete with incumbent Chris Hanson. Player, whose appearance is distinctive in that he uses a single-bar facemask and sports a blonde Fu Man Chu, spent nine seasons with the Arizona Cardinals (1998-2006). The conversations...
