A Clearwater police officer received an employee notice after her gun discharged in April as she was entering a hotel room where authorities believed a woman might be in distress, according to Clearwater police. The officer, Keisha Bradley, 35, was also ordered to undergo remedial training, said Elizabeth Daly-Watts, Clearwater's public safety spokeswoman.

The woman who drowned Wednesday night in the Gulf of Mexico was a Norwegian tourist who was overtaken by a wave as her children watched from the beach, Clearwater police said. The woman was identified as Alicja I. Dyga, 51, said Clearwater public safety spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly-Watts.
