BOSTON A pedestrian crossing Washington Street in Roxbury was struck and killed by a car last night, police said. The man, whom police would not identify, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the 8:45 p.m. accident, Officer David Estrada said. He said police have interviewed the driver and continue to investigate. No charges were filed last night.

The child, whose name was not released, was shot in the back and was undergoing surgery last night at Boston Medical Center. The hospital would not comment on his condition, but police spokesman David Estrada said the boy was in stable condition. One officer said he may have also been hit in the shoulder.
