Filed under: Breakfast , Business , Comfort Food , Fast Food , Food News Over the past few years, fast-food joints like McDonald's and Burger King have cashed in on nutritionists' advice that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. At this point, they all have a breakfast value menu. So, it's no surprise that food service businesses, such as Denny's and IHOP, which built their restaurants...

When I visited an uncle in Florida he took me to an Olive Garden for lunch (after taking me to Denny's for a senior special breakfast with coupons). He wanted me to order the unlimited refill salad while he ordered the unlimited refill soup so we could split them. That way you could fill up without an entree, or dessert.

Who gets custody, a one-time Bond or a 22-time Grand Slam winner (not Denny's)? That's the question, but we assume with more relevant criteria than their individual accolades, as George Lazenby and his wife Pam Shriver are divorcing after six years of marriage and taking the issue of custody to the courts (not tennis). They are both seeking sole custody, which means the real victims will be...

A few days ago Pirooz Kalayeh visited me about making The Human War into a movie. Here is his post on it. Pirooz was really nice the whole time he was here. We drove around and ate at Denny's. I really like the idea of The Human War being made into a movie. It might not be, but I hope it will be. I don't know if it will be great as Citizen Kane, but I think it would be funny little film people...

As you may recall, I gave Kevin Harvick a 38th place trophy in the 250 to give to Denny Hamlin from his visit here in 2006. Kevin placed it on Denny's car yesterday before the race at Michigan. They said that when Denny walked up he thought it was hilarious and everyone got a kick out of it. I also sent Kevin back with a program from a couple of years ago that had a great picture of Jeff

... I would rather see him promoting oatmeal. I would even rather see him promoting Cheerios."Or, a Denny's Grand Slam Breakfast, because it's been documented that Phelps' usual breakfast of choice is three eggs over easy, hash brown potatoes, five sausages, wheat toast, plus -- on a good day -- a side order of bacon. Now where's he going to find room for cereal, too?Mark and MikeSpeaking of...

... traditionally heroic Wheaties. Hey, nutrition experts, relax. It's better than Phelps promoting a Denny's breakfast of French toast, pancakes, grits and fried-egg sandwiches, right? They could have called it the "Olympic Grand Slam."De-streaming Magic'Earlier this week I mentioned the 's plans to allow live Internet streaming of games to local markets via team Web sites. ... with rebar, wooden pallets, and Honey Buckets. Is the bank likely to go the way of the Ballard Denny's'Apparently not. A sign barely clinging to the chain-link fencing promises a new Walgreens drug store at the site. Deerfield, Ill.–based Walgreens bought the old bank last year for $4.5 million. The seller was San Francisco–based BRE Properties, which is behind Taylor 28. As developers often...

Calm down. It’s a food post. Our local weekly had brief notes on all the candidates for council this fall–an unusual election in which there are no sitting councilfolk running for re-election. One (of quite a few) apparently moved to Mountain View fairly recently, and this person has a complaint. Namely, that downtown Mountain View doesn’t have diverse [...]

... where lawyers shoot off a firm-wide email at 2 a.m. asking if anyone wants to take a break at the Denny's across the street -- and get plenty of takers. Even the off hours are intense, punctuated by the firm's annual summer hikes, dubbed death marches. Quinn has led the firm's lawyers through Olympic National Park in Washington State, up Half Dome in Yosemite, and into the Swiss Alps.

Filed under: Food and Drink , United States Have you ever heard of Clearfield, Pennsylvania? Neither have I. But it's not much of a detour off Interstate 80, right in the center of the state, and the little town has a pretty amusing claim to fame. Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield is the home of the world's largest hamburgers. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, here is where...

... We loaded up and went across the street to Sonic for breakfast. True. There wasn't a single Denny's around. From there we rode to the Grand Canyon. It was all along a very long straight highway 64 to the canyon. There was a cost of $12.00 each to enter the park for one day. It was beautiful and enticing to see this amazing view. We took lots of pictures. Later in the day the TV news...
