Derek Draper is the leader of Labour's new rebuttal unit . I went looking for his blog and couldn't find it. Anyone who doesn't have a blog can't engage in conversation is likely to end up with a case of "Japanese students on bikes for the first time in their lives going round a traffic island the wrong way looking like Martians" syndrome. It seems to me that the focus of the work needs...

Derek Draper was given some space in yesterday's Telegraph to spout his usual rubbish. One comment came shining through as even more "out there" than most, he described Gordon Brown thus: "He also shies away from today's celebrity culture, thinking much of it schmaltzy and insincere." This is the same Gordon Brown who opined on the Shilpa Shetty affair, had secret drinks with Kylie Minogue,...

Good luck to Derek Draper , who wants Labour to police the blogosphere. Plenty of luck is what he will need. Guido has already highlighted the initiative, a warning that I bet he plans to write about Draper at some point. The former spindoctor left politics under something of a cloud but has returned to offer his assistance in the party's hour...

Over the last three days I have noticed that there has been a dramatic increase in anonymous postings on this blog, full of bile and vitriol at everything Conservative. I wonder if Derek Draper has let loose his puppies of war. Just asking.

The news that Derek Draper is organising a rapid rebuttal operation to combat bloggers does not exactly have Guido quaking in fear. "PR Week can reveal that the Labour Party is exploring plans for an online rapid rebuttal unit, designed to kill off damaging stories circulating in the blogosphere. Former lobbyist Derek Draper will oversee the initiative, having recently been...

As I post, Mark Hanson of LabourHome is debating with Sunny Hundal, Derek Draper and Jim Pickard on the fringe. It has got a little bit heated and a bit sweary. More and some quotes are in a longer post on the Next Left Fabian blog http://nextleft2.blogspot.com/2008/09/derek-draper-versus-labourhome.html

Can someone tell me why he's back in the circles of power? I attended a briefing with Derek a few weeks ago, where he attempted to explain key messages and Tory 'weakpoints' that Labour was attempting to get across. It was absolutely nothing we haven't heard before- 'salesmanship not leadership' etc. The presentation Draper gave was not good. He looked like he'd just rolled out of bed...

So Peter Mandelson disappears out of the country for a while. His acolyte Derek Draper also goes abroad to study psychotherapy. Draper returns and is left alone in a room with the Prime Minister. Soon after, the PM ennobles Mandelson and invites him into Cabinet. Hmm. Related posts A (wrong) week in politics (4) Return [...]

Anyone listening to my modest contribution on Sky News commenting on the reshuffle at around 1920 yesterday evening together with Derek Draper will have heard me "announce" that Jon Trickett MP, aka as the chair of the Compass group of MPs has been appointed as the Prime Minister's Parliamentary Private Secretary or eyes and ears in the House of Commons.I thought this appointment was...
