Liberation have a proud history of solidarity with anti-colonial national liberation movements....so very pleased to be invited, I am certainly aiming to talk about the indigenous resistance to rainforest destruction in West Papua and in Peru, as well as the work of people like Roberto Perez in Cuba in promoting an ecosocialist economic alternative...both perspectives are vital to tackling climate...

I had the pleasure of addressing the London members of Polo Democrático the Colombian left party on saturday , the great Diana Raby spoke as well and translated my words. My Spanish is nearly ok for reading leaflets and asking for Cafe con leche, por favor but little else, I am afraid. Polo have a nice site I would recommend glancing at I hoping that all progressive Colombians including the Greens...

The Green Party’s other principal speaker is Derek Wall. The party have been unable to decide on a leader over the years (they’re choosing one right at the moment), and so have had two: Caroline Lucas and Derek Wall - one for girls, and one for boys. No, we’re not kidding. Wall doesn’t make it [...]

... Fun link, just because we’re in alphabetical order. Being a poet myself, I enjoyed this effort. Derek Wall - The Green Bible has arrived! Feministing - I’m sorry, Jessica. I have never understood why people can’t read books before unneccessarily insulting their authors either. All the best for when your book actually gets published. ... range of organisations and individuals. From the Red Pepper blog about the conference It was Derek Wall who best summed up the Convention of the Left’s opening session, and he did it by quoting Chumbawamba. “Even though we disagree,” they sang, “we share a common enemy”. It was a call for non-sectarianism that echoed through almost every contribution, whether from the speakers or...

Plenty of worthwhile links this week. Blogs Derek Wall is looking forward to the Convention of The Left , which could be a good step forward for the left in Britain....or not. Time will tell. Hope is ever the triumph of optimism over experience. He has also been blogging like mad on Socialist Unity blog (all that free time now he is not Principal Speaker of the GP being made good use...

What would the blogosphere be without other blogs to gripe about? Harry’s Place continue this fine tradition with a screamer of a post about an image dreamed up by Derek Wall, leader of the Green Party, posted along with an article at the Socialist Unity blog. When I say a screamer of the post, I [...]

... cultural boycott of Israel. Other high-profile Green speakers, including its leading male speaker Derek Wall, have expressed overt support for the academic boycott of Israel , even though several legal opinions have been given to the effect that such a boycott, including the reluctantly watered-down version which was passed at the last UCU conference, would fall foul of the Race Relations...

... Socialist Unity - the most widely-read leftwing blog in Britain - recently carried a post by Derek Wall, illustrated by a graphic that slowly morphs a New Labour rose into a well-known Nazi symbol. This is a man who, as leader of the Green Party in England and Wales, presumably wants to be regarded as serious politician. I don’t think that he has bolstered his case by his choice of...
