Luis Jimenez and Christopher Garcia each tallied three hits as the Owlz bounced back from two straight tough losses to nab a series opening 13-2 win at Casper. William Smith scattered seven hits over five innings to get his fifth win on the mound, while the Orem relievers rang up four scoreless innings to close out the game. Garcia, Jimenez and Donato Giovanatto each had two RBIs.

The Owlz posted their third shutout victory, including a 6-0 win over Casper on June 25 and an earlier 13-0 win against Great Falls on July 10. Donato Giovanatto and Luis Jimenez both had home runs as Orem had a 15-2 advantage in the hitting department.
